Hi, I'm Eric Burger the "Old Man" of Burger Racing.. Yeah I am the father of George and Warren. We always don't see eye to eye, but I am proud of both them. I got George and Warren involved in snowmobiling about 11 years ago. I myself have been riding since I was 8 years old. Of course I have been racing, jumping, hill climbing, and ditch banging long before snowmobiling became the sport and recreation that it is today. Yep, there were days of being chased by snowmobiles with red lights and escaping by finding drifts high enough to jump over barbed wire fences, you know what I am talking about. By the way that was with slide rail suspension, except there really wasn't suspension in those days.
As of now I am retired, I finished my race career at the top and achieved the goal I had set at the beginning of the year, to win the WSA Vets Class Year End Points Championship. I must say that this year proved to be more competitive then I had ever thought it would be. The last race of the year I had a first and second in qualifying and won the final which put me in first place for year end Points Champion, it was that close. I am really impressed with the other racers in the upper age classes, they are all good clean racers and I would race with them anytime. In our sport, sometimes safety gets put on the back burner, but I can say that the seasoned professionals do watch out for the other racers and stay in their lanes. Hope to see you at HillCross and HillDrags in 2010, and who knows, I may race a few just for the fun of it. Of course I will have to use Warrens sled.
